Gods and Bodhisattvas: Treatment of Deities in Buddhism

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Buddhism is often characterized as a non-theistic faith. However, in reading Buddhist texts you will often find reference to Gods, Brahma, Bodhisattvas like Kuan Yin and other possibly divine beings. But, what is the place of Gods in Buddhism? What is a Bodhisattva? We will discuss these two topics and get some in depth examples of the most significant Bodhisattvas in Buddhism including the Bodhisattvas of Great Compassion, Wisdom, Action and Vows.
